Objectifs de conservation

To conserve an extensive tract of Upper Bay of Fundy salt marsh.

All agricultural and industrial activity are prohibited within the area.

Pourquoi (contexte environnemental pour la protection)

The John Lusby Marsh is the largest continuous section of salt marsh remaining in the Bay of Fundy ecosystem. Waterfowl use the salt marshes during spring and fall migration, and late summer staging periods. Regular visitors include green-winged teals, American wigeon, and northern pintails. Visiting shorebirds include greater yellowlegs, short-billed dowitchers, and European ruffs.
